Pre-writing Artifact:

Revision Artifact: This is what was edited to now what is in my final campaign:

As we all know, college is really difficult. It’s probably most of our first time having this much work to do, and our first time being so independent. All of this really starts to take a toll on our mental health. Not just people who have mental illnesses or an anxiety disorder already, but for all of us. It really starts to cause a burnout, and feeling helpless and overworked.

“All students, on average, were suffering from perceived stress and anxiety, with especially high levels in April.”

My first semester at TCU I was doing pretty good. Kept up with all my classwork, and got good grades. But I started to lose that speed the second semester. I got so overwhelmed. All the stress from this and the first semester caught up to me and I was overwhelmed. Even when I was taking a break to feel relaxed, I couldn’t. I was constantly stressed. One of the things that helped me through it was I started up Taekwondo again. I had taken a break when starting college, but I missed it and started practicing on my own again. All of a sudden, I was feeling better. Not entirely of course, and I still felt stressed a lot, but it was an outlet for me.

Taekwondo has been shown to help with student stress.

“As the advisor for Club Taekwondo, the author has witnessed emotional and psychosocial development and growth, as well as improved physical fitness for the students involved with Club Taekwondo.”

“Whereas, the Taekwondo intervention did not remove stress from the lives of this group of UG student participants, the intervention allowed participants to gain perspective on the experience of stress and how this may affect holistic health and well-being”

I feel that if more students try Taekwondo, or at least any sport for that matter, it could help improve their stress levels and feel less burnt out.

Peer Response Artifact:

I was told to make it more refined, but also to organize it better. And to make the sentences flow a bit better together.
